  • Feature: Assign an asset to a project.

  • Use: Use project assignments to manage access to assets and related resources.

Prerequisites

Know how to create a project. Know how to manage asset definitions.

Confirming project status

Before adding an asset to a project, it's a good idea to confirm the associated asset definition is set up to display the optional Project field.

Go to the side menu and select Assets > Asset Definition Manager. Open an asset definition and go to the Project field near the top of the page. Confirm the field is set to Included (or Mandatory). If you select Not Included, Nektar hides this field on the asset summary page, which means assets related to this definition cannot be assigned to a project.

Adding an asset to a project

To assign an asset to a project, go to the side menu and select Assets > Asset Registry. On the next page, click an asset tile. A new window displays.

Locate the Project Identifier column on the asset grid. You might have to open the Column Chooser and confirm it is visible on the grid. Select an asset that does not have an assigned project (e.g. the table cell is blank).

The asset summary page displays. Go to the Asset Elements column and click the pencil icon. A new window displays.

Scroll down to the Project heading and click the field. Select a project name and click Save.

Go back to the asset grid. The table shows the project assignment for the asset.

Removing a project assignment

To remove the project tag from an asset, open the asset summary and click the pencil icon. Click the X icon next to the project name and save.
