Create a dashboard widget to display an image.

Opening the Create Widget window

To create a widget:

  1. Click Dashboard on the side menu.

  2. Go to the top right corner and click Edit Layout> Add Widget.

  3. Click the Type field and select Image.

  4. Fill in the fields (see below).

  5. Click Create.

Filling in the fields

Go to the top of the window and enter a title and description (optional). Customize settings.

  • Show on Mobile - This feature is enabled by default. Uncheck the box to hide this widget on mobile devices.

  • Background color - Customize the colour of the widget on the dashboard.

  • Image Display - Select an option. No Sizing displays the image with its original dimensions. Aspect Fit changes the image size to fit the widget box. All parts of the image are visible, but the image may be smaller than the widget width or height. Aspect Fill stretches the image to meet the widget box dimensions, but some parts of the image may be cropped.

The screenshot below shows an image with Aspect Fit. The widget displays the complete image but adds white space to the top and bottom because the widget's height (with this aspect ratio) is taller than the image's height.

Uploading an image

To insert an image into a widget, click the field and upload an image (PNG or JPG) from your device. Click Create.

To adjust the image display, hover the widget on the dashboard, click the Edit icon, and select a different option (e.g. fit or fill). Click Save.

To resize the widget (and image), click and drag the bottom left corner of the widget.

Replacing an image

Open the widget, go to the image and click the X in the top right corner. Upload a new image file and click Save.

Viewing the description

If you add a description to the widget, an i icon displays when the mouse hovers the widget. Click the icon to read the image description.
