To create a new asset:

  • In the left hand menu click on Utilities > Create Asset (Alternatively, you can go to Asset Registry and click the + button on one of the asset type definitions).

  • You will see the following screen where you can begin to define aspects of the asset to be created

  • First, select the class, category, and type of whichever asset type definition you'd like (if you started this process from the Asset Registry, these fields will be filled for you)

  • The empty area underneath these values will fill in with the asset definition sections and their elements that you can define values for

  • If you'd like, you can open the Images and/or Asset Location tab to upload and set any of these values as required for your new asset, including locking the location if the asset is meant to be stationary and shouldn't be allowed to have it's location updated in the future.

  • Now to finalize the creation of the asset(s), decide whether you wish to create a single asset or multiple (highlighted in red)

  • For both single and multiple assets, you can either type in a desired asset number, or have the page generate one for you (when creating multiple assets, the typed or generated number only applies to the first asset, the rest will be created sequentially or randomly depending on your selection).

  • For multiple assets, select the amount you wish to have created and whether the subsequent asset numbers are random, or sequential (highlighted in blue)

  • Finally, click the Create Asset(s) button and the process will begin, with completed assets being displayed in the log at the bottom (highlighted in green)

Notes:

  • While creating an asset, if you wish to see elements that have been set to non visible in the definition (and you have permission to do so), click the crossed out eye in the top toolbar

  • If you feel that the asset type definition does not contain the proper fields or elements that your business process requires, your administrator can modify the definition in Asset Definition Manager
