Create a dashboard widget to display data in a pie chart.

Opening the Create Widget window

To create a widget:

  1. Click Dashboard on the side menu.

  2. Go to the top right corner and click Edit Layout> Add Widget.

  3. Click the Type field and select Pie Chart.

4. Fill in the fields (see below).

5. Add filters. (optional, learn more)

6. Click Create.

Filling in the fields

Go to the top of the window and enter a title and description (optional). Click the Choose Primary Focus link to select a data set.

In the popup, go to the Primary Focus field and select an option (e.g. assets, tasks, or work orders). Depending on your selection, the popup displays additional fields. Select an option for each field. Click Save to close the popup.

Customize settings.

  • Show on Mobile - This feature is enabled by default. Uncheck the box to hide this widget on mobile devices.

  • Color - Customize the colour of the widget on the dashboard.

  • 3D Chart - This feature is disabled by default. Check the box to display a 3D effect.

  • Group Value - Click the button and select a variable to display in the pie chart. The number of fields on the Select Parameter popup that require a selection depends on the parameter type. Click Done to complete the selection.

  • Aggregate Type - Choose a data display format (e.g. count, average, sum, etc.). The range of available options depends on the Primary Focus value. If you choose any operator other than Count, click the Add Column button and select a parameter.

Viewing details

In the below screenshot, the pie chart shows the total number of pickup trucks and their availability status (i.e. Yes, available for use or No, not available).

Hover over a chart section to see details.

Click a pie chart section to open the Details popup. Here, you can access several features. For example, click the globe icon in the toolbar to open a map and display the location of the items in the pie chart section. Or click the three-dot icon to open a drop-down menu.

Adding filters

Add one or more filters to focus on a narrow subset of data. In the example below, the user created a 3D pie chart to show the availability status of its Ram-series pickup trucks.
