Learn about report creation and data sets

Reports are highly configurable digital documents that interpret and display platform data in a meaningful format for your business. They are data organizers—think Marie Kondo for data. Reports allow for a professional, real-time display of data based on your collected information, including assets, tasks, work orders, projects, and users.

Creating a report

The Nektar platform contains a robust web-based report designer—no installation needed! The designer is nearly limitless in how data can be displayed, manipulated, summarized, and grouped. This flexibility helps you create clean and clear summaries to guide your business decisions.

To start, go to the side menu and click Reports > View Reports. Go to the bottom of the window and click Create Report. On the next page, enter a report name and select a folder. On the next page, select a data set. On the next page, click Create Report.

The designer starts with a blank canvas. To build the report, you'll need to add fields, headers, text, and variables.

Report building can be a time-consuming process for people not familiar with the software. Contact our support team via the chat widget to discuss options.

Using the data set manager

We also have a data set manager. This utility helps you create robust data sources and queries for your reports. The data set manager is a drag-and-drop UI-based tool that requires no programming, query language, or database knowledge.
