Create a dashboard widget to display data in a bar graph.

Opening the Create Widget window

To create a bar graph widget:

  1. Click Dashboard on the side menu.

  2. Go to the top right corner and click Edit Layout> Add Widget.

  3. Click the Type field and select Bar Graph.

4. Fill in the fields (see below).

5. Add filters. (optional, learn more)

6. Click Create.

Filling in the fields

Go to the top of the window and enter a title and description (optional). Click the Choose Primary Focus link to select a data set.

In the popup, go to the Primary Focus field and select an option (e.g. assets, tasks, or work orders). Depending on your selection, the popup displays additional fields. Select an option for each field. Click Save to close the popup.

Customize settings.

  • Show on Mobile - This feature is enabled by default. Uncheck the box to hide this widget on mobile devices.

  • Color - Customize the colour of the widget on the dashboard.

  • 3D Chart - This feature is disabled by default. Check the box to display a 3D effect.

  • Group Value - Click the button and select a variable to group data on the x-axis. The number of fields on the Select Parameter popup that require a selection depends on the parameter type. Click Done to complete the selection. If you select a date for the task parameter, the main page displays a drop-down. Select Day, Month, or Year.

  • Aggregate Type - Choose a data display format (e.g. count, average, sum, etc.). The range of available options depends on the Primary Focus value. If you choose any operator other than Count, click the Add Column button and select a parameter.

  • Sub Group Value - Optionally, use this setting to subdivide units on the x-axis.

In the below screenshot, the bar graph shows the total number of fuel purchases each month. The user added a Sub Group to show separate bars for each storage fuel tank asset (i.e. the asset definition element is Tank Name).

Adding filters

Add one or more filters to focus on a narrow subset of data. In the example below, the user created a widget to show the number of fuel purchases today.
