  • Feature: Upload documents to a work order folder.

  • Use: Save time by placing work-related documents in an easy-to-find location. Users can upload files directly from a work order window or asset grid.

Prerequisites

Know how to:

Uploading files within a work order

You can't upload files while creating a work order. Instead, create and save a work order, open the saved order with the Work Order manager, and then upload a file.

Open an existing work order with the Work Order Manager. Go to the FILES block and click the label. A popup window displays.

Adding a file

  1. Go to the asset file manager and select a child folder. (optional) The default is Work Order Files.

  2. On your device, locate a document with the file manager (Win) or file finder (iOS).

  3. Drag the document from the file manager to the work order window.

Nektar adds the document to the selected folder in the asset file manager (1). Select the document to activate all the icons in the file list toolbar (2).

Uploading files from an asset grid

Open the asset grid and locate an asset. Click the three-dot icon and select Files on the menu.

The asset file manager displays in a new window. Upload files as described above.

Using the asset file manager

Organize files attached to an asset. The asset file manager shows the asset number (which is a link) and unique identifier. Click the asset number to open the asset summary in a new window.

Click a toolbar icon to manage (e.g. copy or remove) child folders. Right-click a folder to open a menu of options (e.g. add or delete). Custom folders can help users organize files when multiple tasks are assigned to the same asset. Click the plus (+) icon in the toolbar to create a child folder.

To auto-generate custom child folders, check the Create File Folder box in a work order template or when creating a new work order from a blank form.
