The Asset Definition Manager is the tool to use when you want to create, edit or update asset definitions. Asset Definitions can be thought of as simply the templates for creating actual assets.

The manager provides the user with numerous functions:

  • Create, delete, and organize your asset definitions using drag and drop controls alongside the Context Menu.

  • Edit an asset definition to match your business processes by changing things like:

It's name, color, and icon (used in Asset Registry, search results, etc.)

Valid Tasks (task definitions that are allowed to be recorded against this asset type)

Permissions (who can view and create)

Whether asset's created using this definition should be allowed to be attached to a project

It's sections, and their individual elements

And various other settings and advanced settings

This page may be hidden if you do not have the required permissions. Speak with your administrator about gaining access.
