Every time a piece of data is collected, there is almost always some type
of time data associated with it. Be it an asset creation date, a task recorded date, or the exact time a user made a comment on a work order - time data is prevalent throughout the system. This is great if everyone in your company is in the same region, but what happens if your company operates in multiple time zones or even internationally?

Fortunately, we store all data in UTC (no time zone offset). This allows us to convert the time data when it is displayed to you so that the time you see, is the time in YOUR timezone. So if you're in Vancouver (GMT-8), and someone records a task at 2:00pm in Orlando (GMT-5), you will see the time displayed as 11:00am.

Your timezone preferences are base on the timezone setting in My Settings. To get there click your user name at the top right of the web app then click My Settings. In My Settings, expand the Misc. Settings pad and change the Timezone parameter as needed. By default, this is set to use your browser's current timezone.

For Administrators

There is also a Predominant Timezone parameter in Company Settings. This timezone is used as a fail over if the user's timezone choice is not available. This should be set as the timezone used in most of your data collection. Usually this is where your main business is physically located.
