An avatar is a graphical representation of a user in the system—for instance, the author's avatar right above this paragraph. Avatars are more than just eye candy, although they are appealing to look at. They help us quickly associate data with a specific person. If you are an existing Gravatar user, updating your avatar is easy. It may have already been automatically done for you when your user was created.
What is Gravatar?
Gravatar is an online service that lets you pick an avatar once and associate it with your email address. Then, no matter what system or platform you are on, as long as they support Gravatar, avatar updates are easy or even automatic.
Update from Gravatar
To update your profile avatar from Gravatar, log in to the web app. Go to the top right corner, click your user name, and select My Profile. Click the Update from Gravatar button. That’s it!
