When deleting or altering a list in List Manager, you should always check for usage of this list beforehand to avoid breaking any important references.

To check for list usage, navigate to List Manager and right click on a list you wish to search for, then select the "Used By..." option.

A popup will be displayed to show if the list is in use in any Asset or Task Definitions.
