What are automations and what can I use them for?

The Automations Manager provides a centralized hub where you can set up automations to stream line certain processes within your business work flows. Within Nektar, automations are defined by a trigger that causes an action to be executed. A simple example of this would be getting a notification when a certain type of task is recorded.

To navigate to the Automation Manager, click the Automation Manager menu item under the Manage tab in the side menu. If you don't see this menu item, you may need to contact your company administrator to provide permission to it.

โ€‹Automations are defined by a trigger (an event that occurs) and an action (an automated action that occurs when the trigger is satisfied).

Some examples of triggers:

  • An asset is created or updated

  • A task is recorded or updated

Some examples of actions:

  • Notification(s) and/or emails are sent to certain users or contacts

  • Create a work order

  • Call an external API (this currently requires involvement from Nektar support)
