The Class, Category, and Type are the main identifying (and grouping) attributes of an Asset Definition and are identified in a hierarchical manner. They give you the ability to define the way your asset definitions are grouped to better suit your business processes. Multiple asset type definitions can share a class and category, but must have a unique Type.
