To use the new point alignment on Nektar Maps create a new Raster Layer.

Fill in the required fields.

When an image is uploaded you will now have the option of Manual Alignment OR Point Alignment. NOTE: Manual Alignment is the original way of image placement.

Choose Point Alignment.

A Wizard will appear at the top of the screen to guide you through the placement process.

  1. Pivot Point is the first point of alignment. This is the point that the image will rotate around. Place a point on the reference image in the modal first. Then click on the corresponding point on the Map.

  2. Angle Point is the second and final point of alignment. This is the point that will specify the angle of rotation and the size of the image on the map.

  3. Zoom In will allow you to click on the reference image and enlarge around the clicked point.

  4. Zoom Out allows you to make the reference image smaller to get a greater overview.

  5. Grab and Move allows you to move the reference image around to see any part that is not in the window.

Set the Pivot Points by clicking the reference image first, then the Map

Set the Angle Points in the same order as before

Move the points around on the reference image and/or map until you are happy with the placement. Then click finish.

Congratulations, you’re done.
